Sure Fire Ways to Have Family Fun This Fall in Topsail

Family fun abounds on Topsail Island all year long, but we're pretty partial to the fall season. In addition to gorgeous fall temperatures, less humid conditions and less crowds, autumn in Topsail offers some of the best family fun found anywhere.

What's wonderful about Topsail Island is that there's a little something for everyone of every age and interest. Watersports, fishing, history, arts, culture, nature, shopping, dining and quintessential beach life are all available to you. We're always excited to share our island paradise with visitors and vacationers, so you can expect Southern charm and unmatched hospitality, too. Come and see for yourself!
Here are three of the best ways to guarantee family fun this fall season on our island. Won't you join us?

Go to the beach.

Topsail Island has a 26-mile stretch of barrier island beach for your enjoyment. Whether you decide to spend your time in North Topsail Beach, Surf City or Topsail Beach, you will have unspoiled beaches and pristine shorelines right outside your door. The off-season in Topsail promises more beach just for you!

Take time to catch the breathtaking coastal sunrises and sunsets that offer a different but always stunning color show each and every day. Spend your days getting some quality time together while you soak up the sun, sand and surf. Let the kids explore the coastal wonders that surround them and burn off some energy while doing it.

Go fishing.

Fall fishing is exquisite this time of year on Topsail Island. Cast a line from the surf, spend a day on the fishing pier, go to Soundside Park and see what’s biting, or have the adventure of a lifetime on a fishing charter.

Check out the local Topsail are fishing tournaments this season and sign-up to participate or just come on by and be a spectator. The Topsail Island Fall Surf and Pier Fishing Challenge is a local favorite and perfect for families!

For a taste of the local flavor, be sure to visit the North Carolina Spot Festival and sample some of the best catch around during this favorite fall event in Topsail. It’s held right off the island on the mainland in the quaint maritime town of Hampstead.

Go to the local events and festivals.

There is no better way to get to know Topsail Island on an intimate level than to attend our local festivals. Mingle with the locals and you’ll get a true sense of the community spirit, local history and maritime charm that are the soul of Topsail Island.
