1. Topsail Island Beaches

Whether you're sunbathing, surfing, shelling, surf fishing or strolling the shoreline, Topsail's beaches are loved for their soft sand and breathtaking coastline. You won't find any high-rise hotels and motels to block your ocean view, so you can enjoy the 26-mile stretch of barrier island beauty and immaculate coastal splendor right from your Topsail beach vacation rental. 2. Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital

The Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center is a popular attraction on Topsail Island. Here you can visit and tour the sea turtle facility to see how this volunteer-operation works and meet their adorable patients in person. Who doesn't love a sea turtle? Here's your chance to take the family to an unforgettable place to learn about these fascinating sea creatures. The sea turtle hospital is a great for all ages. Seasonal hours begin on April 1 and low admission fees help power the center.

3. Soundside Park

Scenic Soundside Park in Surf City is a family haven for fun and relaxation. With wide open space and picturesque waterfront views of the sound, it's the perfect location to have a family picnic, fish from the docks, walk your dog or catch a coastal sunset. The park playground is a kid-friendly favorite. Soundside Park is also the location of many of Topsail's family activities including holiday events like the Easter Egg Hunt and July 4th Fireworks to Summer Fun Fridays with free movies, activities and concerts. Needless to say, Soundside Park is a local and visitor favorite. 

4. Topsail Island Fishing Piers

Each Topsail town has its own fishing pier so no matter where you stay, you're close to reel fun. Pier fishing is a wonderful way to spend the day with your family. Cast your line, try your hand at catching the big one and come home with plenty of fish stories to tell and a tasty catch of the day to enjoy. Fishing piers have a blanket fishing license, so there's no hassle. Grab your rods and reels and come to the pier! 

Seaview Fishing Pier in North Topsail Beach

Fishermen, fisher ladies and anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable time need to check out the longest fishing pier on the NC coast. Seaview Pier is located in North Topsail Beach, NC and offers a variety of enjoyment for everyone from relaxing on the clean beaches to King Mackerel or bottom fishing on the pier. While you are here, you can also enjoy their well stocked bait and tackle shop and restaurant. Seaview Pier has some of the best breakfast, lunch and dinner on Topsail Island. By the way, if you catch ‘em and clean ‘em, they will cook ‘em for you at a price you will like. The pier is now open 24 hours a day for your fishing pleasure.

Surf City Ocean Pier

Topsail Island's first ocean pier, the Surf City Pier, was originally built in 1948. It has been owned and operated by the Lore family since 1973. Though it has weathered many storms (some better than others), Hurricane Fran destroyed it in 1996. It was totally rebuilt and reopened in August of 1997, looking much like it does today including a few additions. The Surf City Pier comes complete with large assortment of bait, fully stocked tackle shop, an eclectic collection of souvenirs, fresh ground chuck burger's from the grill, and an outside covered dining area. The Surf City Pier is open mid March - Dec. 1st, 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Jolly Roger Pier in Topsail Beach

Extending 850 feet into the Atlantic Ocean, the Jolly Roger Pier has long been an area landmark known not only for its superb fishing, but also as a great place to stroll. Some of the island’s best sunrises are seen from the pier, and full moons are a special treat as they come up over the ocean. The pier is fully lit at night and an evening stroll is a tradition for many generations of Topsail vacationers. For the expert or novice fisherman, the Jolly Roger Pier has a fully stocked tackle shop, with all bait and tackle for pier, surf, sound, and offshore fishing. Rod rentals, ice, snacks, domestic and imported beer, and other beverages are also available. The tackle shop also carries a complete line of beach necessities from sunscreen and toiletries to Jolly Roger branded hats and t-shirts. The staff is a great source of local information and lore, and they're open early and late for your convenience.

5. Topsail Tours and Cruises

From ecotours to scenic boat tours and fishing charters to dolphin and dinner cruises, you're sure to have a blast seeing the sights and touring the local waters. No matter which one you choose, you won't be disappointed. Tours and cruises give you a more in-depth vantage point of our island and give you insight into the the maritime history and culture of the area—and they're so much fun! 

6. Missiles and More Museum

Topsail Island is a fascinating place with an intriguing history. From secret missile testing to the first Women Air Force Service Pilots (WASP) to pirate legend, lore and more, you'll see history come to life while on our island. Get to know the storied past of Topsail Island and share it with your family and friends when you get home. The Missiles and More Museum is housed in the historic Assembly Building in Topsail Beach. Don't miss it! Seasonal hours begin the first week in April and admission is free but donations are appreciated.

7. Topsail Beach Skating Rink

How about some old-school family fun? Put on some roller skates and get some exercise (and a few laughs) at the Topsail Beach Skating Rink. There's nothing quite like the nostalgic charm of a roller rink, is there? Give your kids a taste of the good ol' days and get them rolling on a family adventure that's sure to please. The Topsail Beach Skating Rink is open every night from 7-10pm. Check it out!

8. Mini Golf & Gaming

What's a family beach vacation without some miniature golf and arcades? Topsail Island offers up family fun for everyone at the Patio Playground in Topsail Beach and Shipwreck Point Miniature Golf in Surf City.
