If your dishwasher will not turn on, and you have checked the breakers and all GFI outlets, please try all the light switches in the kitchen. During certain years, the building codes for new construction required that power for dishwashers be controlled by a light switch.
If the dishwasher is overflowing with suds or foam, it has been caused by using regular dishwashing soap (such as Dawn or Ajax) instead of dishwashing detergent (such as Cascade or Finish). An appliance repair technician will have to come to rectify this situation during regular business hours.
